Race Day Schedule

Transition opens at 0430 and is for Athletes Only!

Transition Closes at 0545 for ALL Divisions.

Once the race starts, no one can return to (enter) transition unless racing.

This rule is for everyone's safety.

You will not be allowed in transition without a timing chip You MUST have your bib number to collect your timing chip. NO BIB NUMBER, NO TIMING CHIP, NO RACING.

 

Updated USAT Application and Waiver

EVERY participant must complete an updated USAT Application and Waiver to compete. This will be emailed to you to bring to packet pickup, and you can find it attached to the bottom of this page.

Unless you are an annual USAT member and your membership has expired you do NOT have to purchase a one-day license. If your annual license is expired, you can either renew it at USAT or you can buy a one-day license. All one-day licenses purchased for the March 20, 2020, event have been transferred to July 31, 2021. However, you do have to complete the Application and Waiver with the new date. 

Racers' Meeting - MANDATORY ATTENDANCE!

There will be a racers' meeting/information meeting on Saturday, March 20 at 0610 for all triathlon and duathlon divisions near the finish line.  We will prepare a virtual pre-race meeting and will email the link the week of July 26th. 

Event Schedule 

Upon arriving at the race venue, please wear a mask if you have not been vaccinated for COVID-19. This is for you, your fellow athletes and volunteers health safety.

Transition Opens at 0430 (DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 0430, AS YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN) and closes at 0545. Before entering transition, you will be required to show your Timing Chip. Your timing chip will be your entry into transition. No chip, no entry. Tucson Tri Girls will be managing access to and from transition. ONLY ATHLETES CAN BE IN THE TRANSITION AREA.

Timing Chips available 0400-0545. Please have your bib number to collect your timing chip. This is to ensure you receive the correct timing chip. AGAIN, NO BIB NUMBER, NO CHIP, NO RACING. 

Racer's meeting near the finish line at 0610. We will prepare an online pre-race meeting and send a link for you to review. 

The event will start with the Youth Mini Sprint at 0600. Participants will line up in the SOUTH field next to the aquatic center. You will line up in groups of 50 athletes in the field by bib number. 

UPDATE - Duathletes, please exit transition by 0545 and wait near the finish line area to start your first leg.

Youth Mini Tri
Adult Beginner Tri
Intermediate Tri
Sprint Tri and Duathlon

AWARDS CEREMONY

 The Awards will present as follows:

Youth - AFTER the last youth finisher

Intermediate - AFTER the last intermediate finisher

Duathlon - AFTER the last duathlete finisher

Sprint - AFTER the last sprint finisher

If you are unable to collect your award at the race, they will be available for pick up at Tucson Endurance Performance Center on Oracle/Orange Grove beginning Sunday, August 1st. If you live out of town, your AG award can be mailed to you, but we ask that you PLEASE collect your award at the venue. Overall awards CANNOT be mailed due to their size and weight. If you believe on race day that you will receive an OA award, please stay at the race or make arrangements for someone locally to pick up your award. 

Triathlon and Duathlon Awards will be available at the awards table. 

On Your Left Timing is the official timer. You will be able to pick up your timing chip near transition between 0400 and 0545. Results will be streaming LIVE on our website at www.ovtri.com .

This is a USAT Sanctioned event. All results for USAT members will be submitted to USAT for ranking. As a USAT Sanctioned event, electronic devices (MP3, iPod, cell phones, etc.) are NOT ALLOWED on the course AT ANYTIME! Of course, this does not include Garmin, Polar, and/or Timex timing devices. If you are seen using anything other than these approved devices, you will be disqualified.

Awards Categories 

Age group categories are in 5-year increments (except for the 13-19) 20-24, 25-29, etc. as high as needed for both women and men. Awards will be presented 3 deep in each age category, except for the duathlon. There are no age awards in the duathlon.  Overall awards will be given to the top 3 women and men in the intermediate and sprint divisions, as well as the duathlon. Relay team awards will be given to First, Second and Third Place teams.
